A Gold Coast escape like no other, this is qtQT
Posted: 18 December 2024
qtQT isn’t your typical getaway. It’s a collection of six log cabins, each one inviting you to slow down and live in the moment. There are no distractions here, no TVs humming in the background, just you, your surroundings, and the people you’ve chosen to share it with.
Tucked away on QT Gold Coast’s lower rooftop, these log cabins are inspired by tiny homes but reimagined with QT’s flair. The result? A personalised escape that invites you to unwind.
It's more than a stay, it's the start of your story
A dedicated “Curator of Sunshine” is your guide to making the most of your qtQT experience. Before you arrive, they’ll reach out to help your vision come to life, whether it’s a sunrise yoga session or a quiet night in under the stars.
The interiors, designed by award-winning Nic Graham, feature natural textures and earth tones, perfect for creatures of comfort. Each cabin features local touches, including skincare from Saya Skin, a signature scent from Drift Co., and our very own I Love Linen bedding.
We sat down with the team behind qtQT to learn more about the inspiration, design process, and what makes a stay here truly unforgettable.
Q: What inspired the names of the qtQT Cabins and their unique concept?
A: Simply put…it is a little ‘qt’ inside a big ‘QT’.
Q: What inspired the concept of cabins on a rooftop, and how does it enhance the guest experience compared to traditional accommodations?
A: The qtQT Cabins were inspired by a property strategy to innovate and transform under-utilised spaces and a desire to explore the world of tiny home accommodation. During the QT Gold Coast refurbishment, the lower-level rooftop space was identified as the perfect place to trial our interpretation of the tiny home experience, the QT way.
The qtQT experience gives guests the opportunity to unplug and unwind. They can be as connected or disconnected as they like throughout their stay with no televisions and a 5-star resort only steps away, with a dedicated qtQT concierge, the Curator of Sunshine. The Curator of Sunshine is at the beck and call of qtQT guests to curate personalised stays and collaborate with the best local partners for truly memorable experiences.

Our qtQT Cabins is a place to simply be, featuring your own private balcony stepping out to a lush tropical exclusive outdoor oasis for the ultimate relaxing and unwinding experience.
Each cabin is packed with a carefully curated collection of luxe neighbourhood amenities, such as skincare from Saya Skin (Noosa), our signature scent from Drift Co. (Currumbin), and of course I Love Linen (Burleigh) for the beautiful bedding.
Q: What does the ultimate guest experience at the qtQT Cabins look like?
A: The cabins embody a laid-back coastal vibe, crafted for modern travellers, exclusive group retreats, or innovative event experiences. Whether you’re booking a single cabin for a perfect getaway or reserving all six for an unforgettable open-air event, qtQT offers a unique escape.

Q: What makes a stay at the qtQT Cabins truly one-of-a-kind?
A: qtQT is a destination like no other—your private slice of paradise where you can truly unwind and recharge. The concept of tiny homes within a larger hotel is a first for the Gold Coast, setting qtQT apart from traditional accommodations. Guests enjoy an unparalleled stay with a core focus on curating unforgettable moments, delivering exceptional, personalised service, and offering travellers the chance to immerse themselves in a truly unique and innovative hotel experience.
Q: What are the top must-visit spots near the qtQT Cabins for experiencing the region like a local?
A: Our must-visit spots are right here at QT! Our qtQT guests have exclusive access to Curated Experiences, designed to enhance any stay. From moments of reconnection with a spaQ treatment, private yoga class or poolside bliss, to journeying through an intimate tasting of Australia’s most extensive Japanese whisky collection or privately mastering the art of sushi, at QT Gold Coast’s award-winning Yamagen Japanese restaurant.
Q: Can you share the story behind how the cabins were installed on the rooftop?
A: The qtQT Cabins were designed with precision and practicality, ensuring they function seamlessly as tiny homes without compromising comfort or luxury. Built offsite by Alphaline Tiny Homes, the cabins were designed to exact specifications, allowing for a “plug & go” installation on the rooftop, for seamless integration with QT Gold Coast’s broader hotel systems.
Q: Are there any surprising or little-known details about the construction or design process of the qtQT Cabins that make them stand out?
A: Our biggest challenge wasn’t during the construction or installation phases, but in the design process of the qtQT cabins. An important question we asked ourselves was… “How do we maximise the interior of cabins that are 17.28m2 – 21.6m2?"
The design of the qtQT Cabins was centred on creating a luxurious and functions experience within a compact footprint. Maximising space was a top consideration, with clever storage solutions incorporated to accommodate the dynamic range of guests we would welcome; from leisure travellers with luggage or brides needing a space to set up and get ready. Material selection was carefully considered to balance aesthetics and practicality; lightweight plywood interiors were chosen to reduce the structural load on the rooftop, avoiding heavier options like marble. Despite the compact size, every detail was curated to ensure a high-end and indulgent atmosphere, with thoughtful finishes and premium local inclusions that make each guest feel uniquely valued. This balance of practicality and elegance underscores the unique charm of the qtQT Cabins.
