Your Guide to the Perfect Valentine's Night In
Posted: 02 February 2025
We’ll be the first to say it: date night is overrated. Personally, we’re all about a cosy night in, wrapped in your favourite linen (obviously).
Forget the overpriced menus and crowded restaurants
We’ve got you covered with the ultimate Valentine’s night in, from Spotify playlist to delicious desserts (time stamps included).
6:00 PM – Set the Mood
Every good night starts with good music. Dim the lights, burn a few candles (anything with vanilla is a huge yes from us), and let your favourite playlist set the mood.

6:30 PM – Snuggle in Style
Once the mood is set, it’s time to get comfy. Slip into our French Flax Linen Pyjama Set in Beige Gingham, and pair it with the matching French Flax Linen Eye Mask.
Trust us, this soft, stone-washed set will have you falling in love all over again.
7:00 PM – Prepare a Romantic Dinner
Next, head to the kitchen. Dress up your dining table with our French Flax Linen Ruffles Table Cloth in Natural. Add a touch of Valentine’s charm with French Flax Linen Napkins in Blush.
Here’s a quick menu idea:
- Starter: Baked camembert with sourdough is always a crowd-pleaser.
- Main: You can’t go wrong with pasta. Think fettuccine Alfredo or a rich mushroom risotto.
- Dessert: Finish with one of our favourite recipes from Lilly Lloyd: Dark Chocolate and Pistachio Cookies
Ingredients:
- 110g Unsalted Butter
- 150g Coconut Sugar
- 60g Caster Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Milk (we use almond)
- 200g GF Plain Flour
- ½ Tsp Baking Powder
- ½ Tsp Baking Soda
- 1 Tsp Cardamom
- ½ Tsp Ginger, ground
- 70g Dark Choc Buttons, chopped roughly
- 50g Pistachios, chopped roughly
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and line a baking tray.
2. In a large bowl whisk the sugar and butter together until fluffy.
3. Add in the vanilla and milk, whisk to combine.
4. With a wooden spoon or spatula, mix together flour, cardamom, baking powder and soda.
5. Chop the chocolate and pistachios - fold these both through and place the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes (this is where the magic happens).
6. Scoop out a tablespoon of dough, roll into a ball and place onto the tray - make sure to keep them 7cm apart for them to grow in the oven.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until nice and golden.
8. Once cooked, place onto a cooling tray, allowing them to cool for 10 minutes or until firm/chewy/crunchy.

8:30 PM – Movie Time
After dinner, it’s time to cosy up on the couch (doona optional). Choose a movie that you both love. For rom-com fans, try Notting Hill or The Proposal. If you prefer something more emotional, The Notebook or A Star is Born are great tear-jerkers.
10:30 PM – Head to Bed
When the credits are done rolling, it’s finally time for the main event of the evening. Head to bed and wrap yourself in Rosa. Nothing (and we mean, nothing) beats the feeling of fresh linen after a relaxing night in.
There you have it – your perfect Valentine’s night in
With I Love Linen, every detail is taken care of.
